Safer at Home

Up to date - Small imageI’m not quite sure how I feel about the “Safer at Home” order in Los Angeles (and probably soon for all cities in LA County), as I am a homebody by nature.  I’m also someone who hates to have her options limited.  It’s like when my car is in the shop.  I may not have needed to go anywhere while I don’t have it, but the fact that I CAN’T is what troubles me.  It is strange times to be sure.

Because I can’t do anything productive or useful beyond staying home and stitching something beautiful, I thought it might be nice to offer some patterns for free for anybody in a similar situation.  I’m re-establishing the links to Sycamore Rose.  They’ve been updated some.  I sent the actual quilt out for pictures about a month ago and do not have them back yet, so I’ll just post the drawings alongside each pattern for now.

Basic fabric requirements:

Background – 4 yds (generous to allow for cutting errors)

Pink Fabric – 2.75 yds (generous to allow for cutting errors)

Brown Fabric – 3.5 yds (generous to allow for cutting errors)

Applique – Scraps from your stash.  Fat quarters are recommended, especially for leaves and stems.

  1. No.1 thank you for the really neat blocks. I am exacting like you. I told my friend yesterday ” I don’t like to be told what to do from anyone including the government. I went to the grocery store early this morning and felt like I escaped!!
